OZ Finger Lime is an Australian-owned and operated business. Our nurseries in Melbourne are dedicated to growing premium finger limes in orchards located near Wangaratta, in north-east Victoria. At OZ Finger Lime, we offer an extensive range of finger lime varieties, each with unique growth, size, and flavour characteristics.
There are many finger lime varieties already available in the Australian market, each with different naming conventions, which often causes confusion among customers. To help clear up this confusion, we provide a reference list below, featuring finger lime variety names alongside images of the fruit. Please note that the listed fruiting seasons are specific to the north-east Victoria climate, ensuring that you have the most accurate information for growing and harvesting.
Standard Varieties
At our farm, we focus on producing a limited number of finger lime plants, prioritising quality over quantity. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our intensive breeding program, which aims to develop new finger lime hybrids nearly every year.
The harsh climate of Northeast Victoria, where our orchard is located, has taught us a great deal about how finger limes perform under extreme conditions. Temperatures here range from -7°C in winter to +45°C in summer, and this challenging environment has provided valuable insights into the resilience and adaptability of finger limes. This massive experiment was even featured in Asiafruit, and the knowledge and experience we’ve gained have become unique tools for expanding finger lime plantings beyond subtropical climates into various countries.
